Dr. Laure-Anne Teuwen obtained her medical degree from the University of Leuven (Belgium) and her joint PhD degree from the University of Leuven and University of Antwerp (Belgium). She currently practices as a medical oncologist in Antwerp University Hospital, where she specialises in gynaecological oncology, breast oncology and phase I – early clinical trials.
As a clinician-researcher and holder of a clinical post-doctoral research mandate from Stichting Tegen Kanker, she studies the management of cervical cancer in low-resource settings in collaboration with the non-governmental organization Doctors Without Borders. In 2022-2023, she has worked as an expatriate oncologist for Doctors Without Borders in Blantyre, Malawi and Bamako, Mali. She serves on the editorial board of the JCO Global Oncology.
