Sofie Seghers, MD
Dr. Seghers is a dedicated PhD student at Antwerp University Hospital and the University of Antwerp in Belgium, where she focuses on the clinical integration of 3D models (organoids) in cancer research and treatment. Her academic journey began at the University of Antwerp, culminating in her ongoing pursuit of a PhD in Medicine. Dr. Seghers’ interests in global oncology encompass a broad spectrum, from specialized personnel training and effective patient communication to expanding research initiatives in low- and middle-income countries and addressing gender disparities in oncology.
Dr. Seghers joined GLOW with the conviction that international collaboration is vital to address global disparities in cancer care and envisions GLOW as a platform for fostering connections and understanding across diverse challenges, ultimately striving for more equitable cancer care worldwide.
