Hans Prenen, MD, PhD
Prof. Prenen currently serves as the Head of the Oncology Department at the University Hospital Antwerp in Belgium. He earned his medical degree and PhD at the Catholic University Leuven and initially worked for a decade at the University Hospital Leuven, specializing in digestive tumors within the gastro-enterology department. In 2018, he transitioned to the University Hospital Antwerp, initially leading the clinical research unit of the oncology department before assuming his current role as the head of the oncology department in 2021. His primary interests lie in clinical trials and translational research.
Prof. Prenen co-founded GLOW with the aim of supporting young oncologists in their mission to improve global access to cancer treatments, reflecting his vision for the organization to facilitate such endeavors.
